It all started in May 2011 when to mark the charity’s 25th anniversary Leeds and Moortown Furniture Store’s Chair of Trustees John Sherbourne announced that he was organising a 25 kilometre fund-raising walk. A year on and it was local runner Andrew Webster’s turn to raise the bar by representing the Store in the 2012 London marathon.
However now, and you have to ask whatever next, David Gladman a trustee of both L&MFS and St George’s Crypt has recently returned to Leeds after cycling more than 900 km along northern Spain’s Camino Pilgrimage Route. To say his journey was filled with highs and lows is something of an understatement! With climbs as high as the UK’s tallest mountain and sweltering temperatures to match this grueling two week adventure didn’t even end when David reached ”journey’s end” – Santiago. Then, and David describes this as the most stressful part of the whole adventure he and his two travelling companions had just two “nightmare”days in which to get themselves and their bikes back to Bayonne to catch the fortnightly bike bus back to the UK.
However, despite all this David still managed to write a daily blog which you can read by following this link http://cryptcaminochallenge.blogspot.co.uk/
Also just because he’s back and thought to be dreaming up his next challenge it doesn’t mean to say it’s too late to sponsor him. You can do this by visiting his Just Giving page at http://www.justgiving.com/teams/davegladman
